Any filmmaker should wish that their peak could be this fucking amazing. I expected greatness but I didn't expect catharsis on this level. The Meyerowitz Stories is Baumbach's most mature, most humane, most emotional, and maybe his funniest.

Stiller, Sandler, Hoffman, Marvel, and Thompson all knock it out of the fucking park. It's a warm and empathetic look at family dysfunction and legacy and it absolutely wrecked for too many reasons, probably.

He has won me over completely. The writing is laugh out loud funny, but also tender. The acting is solid all around though I prefer Jeff Daniels in the asshole father role.

Sandler and Stiller are particularly excellent. The film looks great, as well. Long, intimate scenes, slightly golden-hues, and filled with love.

Baumbach fills his later films with more humanity. Proof that pitiless is not the same as unsympathetic. This film sees its characters clearly and unsentimentally, with all their grudges, and their bullshit, but it feels their pain deeply.

Whole cast is great, especially Marvel and Sandler. I actually found it slightly richer and more authentic than the more-awarded Marriage Story and I liked Marriage Story a lot.

Every time I watch a Baumbach movie I feel like I've been invited to a summary of every thanksgiving he ever had. I liked this. Noah Baumbach's Meyerowitz Stories might be the magnum opus of all mumblecore films;.

The factor that causes my lack of emotional engagement with most mumblecore films; most projects try way too hard to hit the bull's eye of charm; ends up being inorganic and forced.

Noah Baumbach whose storytelling technique is the fusion of his creative collaborators' Anderson and Gerwig's deadpan humour and the quirkiness which works best here; Yes, there are outlandish scenes that won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Baumbach's honesty and transparency in his storytelling make the film more of a crowd-pleaser which will not fail to connect all people beyond random lines.

I was crying and laughing at the same time. I can't remember the last time a film made me feel something like this.
